• Wedding Celebrants A celebrant’s role is pivotal to a wedding; without a celebrant (or minister), a ceremony cannot take place, and choosing the right celebrant and the ceremony tailored for a couple can dictate your best memories of your wedding day. Ideally, a couple should look to choosing a celebrant who has a desire to bring happiness to couple on their wedding day, coupled with the joy of creating a unique, stylised ceremony. I was impressed by some really great advice from a fantastic celebrant Kerry Brandenburg, who writes, not only original ceremonies, but also original readings and poems styled around the couple: “Taking the time to get to know a couple and incorporating their story into a ceremony that touches not only their hearts and minds, but also that of their guests, should be the focus of a dedicated celebrant to delivering perfection. Life is about events and how we celebrant those events. Simply or grandly the outcome should always be the same….a ceremony crafted for a couple, solely about the couple, celebrating them and the events of their romance.” Love is the eternal constant that shapes and enfolds our lives. It does not choose between age, race or gender, nor does it have a sense of timing. When it is right, it simply exists. And when this state of love exists, human beings, by their very nature, are drawn to making a commitment to celebrate the love that brings them joy. As wedding photographers we’ve witnessed ceremonies performed by celebrants who were outstanding, mediocre and less-than appealing.
